Marjolein Tool
I graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a bachelor’s degree in Pedagogical Sciences (2014). In 2016, I completed my research master’s with a clinical profile (orthopedagogiek) at Leiden University. Throughout my academic journey, I actively participated in multiple research projects focusing on reading, learning disorders, teacher-student interactions, and instructional methods. These experiences have contributed to my developing interest in understanding and enhancing educational processes.
Post-graduation, I accumulated seven years of clinical experience, specializing in learning disorders in children, specifically dyslexia and dyscalculia, at IWAL/RID. My roles at RID have evolved to include team coaching, management, and project coordination. Currently, I work part-time as an operations consultant at RID, applying my knowledge to enhance procedures, support team managers, and provide advice to staff members.
In my simultaneous role as lab- and project manager at Maastricht University, I oversee the practical organization of the ‘Reading Gains’ research project. Drawing on my clinical experience, I guide and support the research team. I serve as the main contact for parents, children, (remedial) teachers, and dyslexia experts.
