My academic studies have been marked by a strong focus on developmental psychology and neuropsychology, particularly investigating individual differences throughout childhood development and learning, including the ability to read. I am passionate about bridging the gap between research and practice, and I aim helping to develop a digital assessment tool that adapts to children’s unique learning potential, with the ultimate goal of creating equal opportunities for all.
Writing my Master’s thesis on neural synchrony between mothers and infants, along with my experience as a research assistant within the Department of Cognitive Neuroscience and the work with children, has equipped me with a substantial skill set in collecting electrophysical and behavioral data and its analysis within the context of developmental psychology.
My PhD project in this group will investigate behavioral measures in children on how and when individual differences in reading potential and gains interact with reading motivation and self-belief.
