Already as a psychology student at Warsaw University I worked as a research assistant, in the projects focusing on bilingualism, language development and brain basis of dyslexia. Upon completing my master program, I started my Ph.D. under the supervision of prof. Katarzyna Jednoróg in the Laboratory of Language Neurobiology in the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology in Warsaw. During the course of my Ph.D. we employed longitudinal fMRI study to look into the brain basis of typical and atypical reading and the development of the reading circuits in the brain. Our collaboration with prof. Kenneth Pugh from Haskins Laboratories in New Haven enabled us to compare printed and spoken language processing in beginning readers of Polish and English. I defended my Ph.D. thesis on Sept 2020. Currently, I joined the Brain and Language group for my post-doctoral internship, to learn new methods of data analysis.
